Meet Jennifer Poe: Your Partner in the Journey

Hi there! I’m Jennifer. If you’re here, chances are you’re navigating a path that feels both incredibly rewarding and, at times, completely overwhelming. I’ve been exactly where you are, and that is why Ascent Facilitation is truly the heartbeat of who I am.

Where Professional Meets Personal

Before finding my true calling, I spent two decades in the fast-paced world of financial technology at a major corporation. During those 20 years, I honed a diverse skill set in strategic planning, business administration, sales, and support. Most importantly, I spent the last decade specifically dedicated to client training—a role that taught me the patience, clarity, and communication skills needed to guide others through complex systems.

In 2020, my life’s most important journey began when my daughter was diagnosed with Autism at age two, right in the heart of the pandemic.

From Research to Advocacy

I started with no roadmap, but my corporate background in learning and development kicked in. Following a recommendation from our pediatrician, we navigated evaluations at the UCSD Center of Excellence in La Jolla, dove into 12 months of ABA therapy, and entered the world of Early Learning and IEPs with San Diego Unified.

I dived deeply into research, spending most of my free time becoming my daughter’s biggest advocate. I attended annual conferences with Autism Tree, became a member of the San Diego Society of Autism, and joined the Autism Spark Study. I even became Autism Certified with IBCCES to better understand how to support her sensory needs and safety.

I’ve learned how to advocate for our family’s needs in every setting—from securing Disney DAS and cruise ship accommodations to planning vacations around her severe food aversions so we can enjoy time together as a family. I wouldn't have it any other way; she is perfect exactly the way she is.

Building a Strong Support Team

In 2021, I attended the Self-Determination Program orientations through the San Diego Regional Center. This was a turning point. I realized that the "executive polish" from my corporate career and my current MBA studies could be used to help families like ours find community and support.

Today, I am deeply involved in our local community:

  • Site Safety Committee Member: Working with my daughter’s school leadership.

  • Auction & Procurement Chair: Leading the annual "Fundraiser Party with a Purpose" for the school’s nonprofit to help fund activities and enrichment classes.

  • Community Builder: Dedicated to ensuring these kids have the best school experience possible through many volunteer hours and fundraising efforts.

My Promise to You

While I value my background in business administration and marketing, I want to share those skills and life experiences with families in need of community, support, and transition.

I use my corporate-honed strategic eye to help you navigate the Self-Determination Program, but I do it with a mother’s heart. I am here to help you bridge the gap between home, school, and the community to ensure your loved one has the life they deserve.

Your life. Your way. Let’s start this journey together.
